SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 18 –
Joshua Gumora was charged with
distribution of katamine and
methamphetamine and, a with
Federal Defender, consented to
detention on December 20, 2019
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge Kevin N.
Fox.
After that,
Jeffrey L. Greco filed a
notice of appearance for
Gumora, paid by his family.
But things did not go well.
On February 12,
Greco's firm wrote to Judge
Fox seeking to withdraw as
counsel, stating the Gumora
accused Greco of "still being
a prosecutor" (he was, until
2008) and blocking them on the
CorrLinks email system (which
Inner City Press is also
on).
On February 18
SDNY Magistrate Judge Barbara
Moses asked Gumora if he
really wanted to change
lawyers, for the second time.
He
explained that he did, stating
that discovery material had
not been given to him. He has
a new lawyer and Inner City
Press will continue to follow
the case. It is US v. Gumora,
19-mj-11739 (Moses).
