SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 28 – Juan Carlos Bardales
sued the Consulate General of
Peru in New York for not
paying overtime. Peru was a
member of the UN Security
Council in the UN of SG
Antonio Guterres, who also
uses and abuse immunity.
The
Peruvian consulate made the
argument they don't have to
comply with US much less New
York law.
Peru said
it was immunity under FSIA and
the Vienna Convention. They
never claimed they paid
overtime.
U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Andrew L. Carter on
September 28 issued a ruling,
noting that Bardales for
example "visited hospitals in
New York to obtain information
on Peruvians being
treated."
By that logic,
should Chinese consultate (and
Zhang Jun) spy Angwang be
considered immune, for spying
on Tibetans in New York City?
Judge Carter dismissed the
complaint.
The case is
Bardeles v. General Consulate
of Peru in New York, et al.,
17-cv-8897 (Carter)
