SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 25 – Malik Knox is
charged with shooting a gun in
The Bronx on October 29, 2020.
Later, 30-some pill capsules
of marijuana were found in his
home in the Lambert Houses
there.
Knox was
arrested on January 22, and
presented in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York where
Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron ruled that he could be
released on bond.
The US
Attorney's office appealed to
the SDNY Part I Judge Alison
J. Nathan on January 25, and
Inner City Press covered
it.
Knox'
lawyer said that his mother
for health reasons needs Knox'
support; that another relative
cannot travel in from New
Jersey and other, a janitor at
St. Barnabas Hospital in The
Bronx, cannot either.
AUSA
Alexandra Rothman said or
implied that Knox is part of a
gang, although she did not
give a formal name.
Judge Nathan said
that the AUSA had overplayed
her hand, but that, yes, Knox
is a danger to the community.
Judge Nathan
ordered Knox detained; his
case has been assigned to SDNY
Judge George B. Daniels.
The case is US v.
Knox, 21-cr-46 (Daniels).
