SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 3 – Daniel Martinez
pled guilty on January 16 to
selling 30 pounds of meth,
then another 18 pounds of
meth, for distribution in
Manhattan.
U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Analisa Torres read out the US
Attorney's plea agreement with
Martinez, for 135 to 168
months of
imprisonment.
Martinez is, she
said, eligible for the "Safety
Value" such that otherwise
applicable mandatory minimum
sentencing does not
apply.
His selling took
place from Los Angeles, where
he was on probation. The sales
were to "CW-1," described in
the docket as "previously
indicted in this District for
distribution of narcotics.
CW-1 has agreed to cooperate
with the Government's
investigation in the hopes of
receiving leniency at
sentencing... In order about
June 2019, CW-1 submitted
urinalysis to pretrail
services that tested positive
for methamphetamine, which was
a violation of the terms of
CW-1's conditions of
release."
But there it was
left.
Martinez'
sentencing will be May 19 at 2
pm. The case is US v.
Martinez, 19-cr-728
(Torres).
