SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 29 – For its BULLEIT
brand bourbon and rye whiskey,
Diageo North America, Inc.
sued W.J. Deutsch & Sons
Ltd. Now the latter wants a
non-jury trial.
On September 29
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Louis J. Stanton held a
telephone proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
Judge
Stanton after listening said
that the plaintiff had the
better argument, and a right
to a jury trial. But
when?
At the same time,
Judge Castel was holding a
civil trial on the 26th floor,
which Inner City Press also
covered.
There appears to
be a November 15 deadline for
letting in line for a civil
jury trial in the first
quarter of 2021. Get on the
BULLEIT train?
This case is
Diageo North America, Inc. v.
W.J. Deutsch & Sons Ltd.
et al., 17-cv-4259 (Stanton)
