In SDNY The Case Of The Swapped Out Lithograph Traces Back to 2009 Meth Release

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - The Source

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 31 – Valdin Kadric was arrested in 2009 as part of a New Jersey based meth ring.

In 2011 he was quoted benefiting from a New Jersey law sponsored by NJ Senator Ray Lesniak would allow 1,000  inmates with addictions to leave prison two years early by completing a substance abuse treatment course. Valdin Kadric said he was incarcerated many times because of his drug use before seeking treatment. He said the bill is a huge step for prisoners who are addicts trying to return to society.”

Now in 2019 Valdin Kadric a/k/a Valdin O'Donnell is charged with transporting a stolen lithograph from New Jersey to New York, for auction. He was initially charged with aggrevated identity theft as well, involving bank accounts in Germany and a rented Porsche in Hawaii.

But Assistant US Attorney Tara La Morte before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Stewart D. Aaron on December 30, where Valdin waived his right to be indicted by a grand jury and consented to an information - with only the one count, Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property.

As to the lithograph, the May 1 complaint said that it was purchased an Auction House-1 in 2002, and thereafter displayed in Victim-1's residence in New Jersey. Valdin lived there from 2009, with Individual-1 until 2015, then without Individual-1 until 2017.

In 2018 Auction House-1 found that the lithgraph had been switched out for a forgery - by October 2018 it was consigned for sale at Auction House-2 by Consigner-1. Meanwhile Valdin was using an ATM in Germany and renting a Porsche in Honolulu. The rest is history.  The case is US v. O'Donnell, 19-mj-4222 (Aaron).
