Johnson sued Midland Credit
Management for defamation as
well as under the Fair Debt
Collections practices. Midland
transferred the case to
Federal
court.
On April 27, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Koeltl said
Midland now has until May 6 to
respond to plaintiff's motion
to remand.
The reply
is due May 13 and the case is
stayed pending resolution of
this issue.
