SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 4 – Jaime Rosario was
incarcerated on charged of
meth distribution. In a
redacted bail application in
July 2021, he sought to be
released.
On July 19, 2021 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Loretta A. Preska held a bail
hearing. Inner City Press
covered it.
Rosario's
lawyer mentioned his diet, and
that is is less of a risk of
flight now. His application
says "Mr. Rosario could not
have known that he would
develop [REDACTED] when the
initial detention hearing took
place."
Judge
Preska listened, but declined
to release him. She did say
she would seek enhanced
medical treatment from the
Bureau of Prisons.
On January
4, 2022, Judge Preska
conducted a change of plea
proceeding with Rosario, by
Zoom and phone under the CARES
Act. Inner City Press covered
it. Rosario admitted to meth
and oxy "that turned out to be
fentanyl." The AUSA said the
guidelines are 121 to 151
months.
Judge
Preska accepted the guilty
plea and set sentencing for
April 6 at 4 pm.
The case is US v.
Rosario, 19-cr-807 (Preska)
