Capital Is Sued For Ordering Distasteful
Actions Now Initials Requested

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 31– Brian La Belle sued
Barclays Capital for, he says,
telling him to take
"distasteful" actions and
follow unwritten
rules.
On May 7, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Chief
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein held a discovery
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
A pending
request for the emails of
Peggy Campbell to be searched.
But Judge
Gorenstein called Ms. Campbell
a "passive actor" and said
that whatever relevant is in
her e-mail should also show up
in others' e-mail.
There was
discussion of how performance
evaluations are done in firms
like Barclays.
On October 7
another conference was held,
and Inner City Press again
covered it. During the
conference, Judge Gorenstein
questioned Barclays' citing to
DeLorenzo v. Spartan Sec.
Services as a basis to reduce
plaintiff's bonus amount. But
Judge Gorenstein then adhered
to his decision that the
reason for reducing the bonus
"is of insufficient relevant
to require production."
On March 31, 2022
Judge Gorenstein held a
discovery conference in the
case. A request was made, if
not for names, at least for
initials.
