SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 19 – The president of
Equatorial Guinea has been
sued for reneging on an
agreement to pay Guychristian
Agbor to try to bring the Miss
Universe pagent to
Malabo.
The case
is assigned to U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehburger. Inner City Press is
covering it.
Agbor also alleged he bought
cell phones for Presidential
Advisor Cougan Champion
Armando, and arranged for
Obiang's wife to attend a Miss
Universe event in Las
Vegas.
On December
4 Judge Lehrburger ordered
that discovery is stayed
pending determination of
Obiang's motion to dismiss.
The case is Agbor
v. Presidency of the Republic
of Equatorial Guinea et al.,
