Mendoza For Fentanyl Was Arrested In Arizona Now Via ICE in Nevada Pleads Guilty in SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 14 –  Richard Mendoza was charged in September 2020 with conspiracy to distribute 400 grams and more of fentanyl.

On April 14, not in the day's Calendar, Mendoza appeared before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang, in order to plead guilty.  Inner City Press covered it.

Mendoza has been arrested in Arizona, then moved to the Nevada Southern ICE Detention Facility in Pahrump, Nevada.

He was put on a plane bound for either the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City or the Grady County Jail in Chickasha, Oklahoma, as an overflow facility. But it was closed for COVID, so he are returned to Pahrump, Nevada.

While he will be sentenced by District Judge Kimba M. Wood, he consented to plead guilty before a Magistrate Judge. The control date for sentencing is July 13.

The case is US v. Mendoza, 20-cr-514 (Wood / Wang).
