Netflix Was Sued On Four Patents In Texas Now Is Told Too Early For Pin Cites To Source Code

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - The Source

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 25 – Netflix was sued in Texas on four patents in 2019. The case has been moved north and on June 12 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The question was whether Netflix can file a motion to dismiss now, or should wait for a summary judgment motion.

Personalized Media Communications LLC seeks a "reasonably royalty" or a trial in the first quarter of 2021.

On August 25 Judge Woods held another another proceeding in the case and Inner City Press again covered it. This time, Judge Wood sided with PMC, that it is too early to require pin cites to the underlying source code.

The case is Personalized Media Communications, LLC v. Netflix, Inc., 20-cv-3708 (Woods).
