SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 17 – Burbran Pierre has
sued the NYPD Paid Detail
Program, which is used by such
businesses as TD Bank,
Bloomberg, L.P., Duane Reade
and Amazon's Whole Foods
Market Group, for using but
not fully paying for police
officers as security
guards.
On
November 17, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Andrew L. Carter held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defendants were united in
wanting to move to dismiss.
Bloomberg L.P. in a letter
cited a "Participation
Agreement" for the proposition
that the NYPD controls the
whole program.
Judge
Carter has ordered that this
Participation Agreement be
submitted by November 19, and
a joint letter on whether it
should be considered at this
stage, that is, on a motion to
dismiss.
The case is
Pierre v. City Of New York et
al., 20-cv-5116 (Carter)
