SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 21 –
Ferlande Milord-Francois, an
attorney of Haitian descent,
sued the New York State Office
of the Medicaid Inspector
General for discrimination,
saying she was told by Robyn
Henzel, "Your angry black face
scares
me."
On March 21, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Liman
inquired into sovereign
immunity arguments, and said
the five day trial should
start on December 5, with a
final pre-trial conference on
November 28.
He said the case
had previously been assigned
to now-retired Magistrate
Judge Kevin Fox and was
unclear, so far, if new
Magistrate Judge Jennifer E.
Willis is the one taking over
the assigned.
The case is
Milord-Francois v. NYS Office
of the Medicaid Inspector
General et al., 19-cv-179
(Liman)
