SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 3 – On June 15 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Katherine Polk Failla
held a telephone conference in
a multi-defendant identity
theft and wire fraud case.
Inner City Press covered it.
The underlying
complaint, 20 pages in length,
describes a dizzying number of
scams, involving among others
King Metal Fencing, AK
Property Investments, Bishop
World Studios, Front Paige
Events, and others.
Much of the
first part of the call
involved Judge Failla
methodically and politely
confirming each defendant's
consent to proceed
telephonically. Thereafter a
three month time frame was
agreed to.
Now on December
3, one of the co-defendants
has pleaded guilty: Daryl
Bartley, pleading guilty over
Skype. His sentencing, whether
virtual or in person, is set
for April 14 at 2:30 pm.
The case is US v.
Oladokun et al., 20-cr-3
(Failla).
