SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 13 – Michael McConnell
from The Bronx conned females
as young as 12 to send him
intimate photos, while he was
working at the NYC Criminal
Justice Agency.
On April
13, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Louis A. Kaplan
held his sentencing. Inner
City Press covered
it.
McConnell
said he now goes to Sex
Addicts Anonymous; he said he
was sorry. The prosecutor read
out some of his message
threads with victims, urging
more and more
photos.
The minimum was
10 years; the guidelines ran
up to life in prison.
Judge Kaplan
sentenced McConnell to 15
years, followed by eight years
of supervised release
including monitoring of
Internet devices or whatever
may exist in 15
years.
The defense
sought to put off remand to
prison, citing a May
vaccination appointment. Judge
Kaplan denied the request,
calling the crime horrible.
The case is US v.
McConnell, 19-cr-647 (Kaplan)
