SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 2 – Emson sells products
including Graniterock cookware
and NuBrilliance Hairless Hair
Removers through TV
infomercials with an "As Seen
On TV" logo. It has sued a
number of companies under the
Lanham Act.
On June 2,
U.S. District for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding, and Inner City
Press covered it.
Emson went
relatively hi-tech, speaking
about cable-cutters and
Netflicks and devices. But
there was a resistance to
conducting virtual or remote
deposition.
Judge
Liman said, essentially, get
over it. He order that "all
depositions in this case may
be taken via telephone,
videoconference or other
remote means."
The case is E.
Mishan & Sons, Inc. v.
Tekno Products Inc. et al.,
19-cv-1910 (Liman).
