SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 21 – Gilbert Oliver was
charged with conspiracy to
distribute five kilos and more
of cocaine, and using a gun.
On July 21, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Sidney H. Stein held his
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered it.
In the
docket, Oliver had a letter of
support from Shaun Gavin, now
of Miramar, Florida, that "As
a Federal Supervisory Special
Agent, I have spent a
significant portion of my
career assigned to U.S.
Embassies around the world" -
and that he saw Olivier
mentoring youth in
Brooklyn.
His brother
Raymond Oliver, "Sergeant USMC
Desert Storm," recounted that
"our father passed away at 58
from a heart attack was a
plumber for local union 14 for
nearly 30 years in New
Jersey... Please be
merciful."
Judge Stein
imposed a sentence of 60
months to be followed by four
years of supervised release,
with a request to serve the
time in Fairton FCI or
Allenwood.
The case is US v.
Oliver et al., 19-cr-568
(Stein)
