SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 20 –
Marcelino Mendoza Ortega sued
San Matteo Pizzeria of 1559
Second Avenue in Manhattan for
failure to pay overtime. In a
separate lawsuit he sued San
Matteo Expresso Bar of 1739
Second
Avenue.
On April 19, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding on both cases.
Inner City Press covered
it.
After asking the parties
how they proposed to
proceeding, Judge Liman said
that while he approved the
Case Management Plan he would
stay it until July 1 except
for paper discovery and the
plaintiff's deposition. On
July 1 a new proposed plan is
due.
The 1559
Second Avenue case is Ortega
et al v. Campania Felix LLC et
al., 21-cv-9123 (Liman)
