SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 21 – Moorishyu Bey a/k/a
Rashym Veadale is charged as a
felon in possession of a gun.
The government says he fired
the gun through the peephole
of a neighbor's apartment
door.
On April 21, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held an
arraignment proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
Bey said he
had read "most" of the
indictment, so Judge Liman
read it to him.
The AUSA
described Bey shouting he
would kill the neighborhood,
then making "agitated"
statements as he left the
building after hiding the gun
on the roof. The Federal
Defender asked for 60 days and
got it.
The next
proceeding is on June 28 at 3
pm, at which time Judge Liman
wants to hear about any
motions, and soft-schedule a
trial date.
The case is US v.
Bey, 22-cr-132 (Liman)
