SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 17 – Allen Montalvo pled
guilty to narcotics charges in
2017. U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Richard M. Berman
in 2019 gave him a sentence of
time served, with Assistant US
Attorney Maurene Comey
present.
On June 17
Judge Berman held a proceeding
on violations of supervised
release. Maurene Comey was
again present, as was Inner
City Press, covering it.
Unlike
other supervision proceeding
before Judge Berman, this one
resulted in admonitions.
Montalvo has been
arrested again, and allegedly
threatened his wife. He was
not remanded, but was warned
to have no contact with this
wife.
Speaking
for himself, Montalvo said he
is living with relatives in
Manhattan, sharing a room.
Judge Berman
asked AUSA Comey to order a
transcript, for an ongoing
project to assess the benefits
of this type of supervision.
In some cases they are
extensive. In this case, next
hearings were set to July 21
and September 16.
The case is US v.
Montalvo,17-cr-28
(Berman).
