SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 4 – Oluwaseun Adelekan and
others are charged with
fraudulently inducing victims
to wire them over $3.5
million.
On September 15 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Loretta A. Preska held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Amid talk
of a final pre-trial
conference, the US Attorney's
Office argues that the jury
should not hear about
defendants' "family
backgrounds, immigration
status or other personal
factors unconnected to guilt."
On September 28
Judge Preska held arraignments
on the superseding indictments
of Olalekan Daramola, Solomon
Aburekhanlen and Bryan Eadie.
Each pleaded not guilty.
On November 4,
Judge Preska held another
proceeding. She floated a
trial date of March 14, 2022.
Various counsel pushed back,
citing scheduled trials before
Judges Furman and Garafus in
EDNY. But it is up to the
Committee.
The case is US v.
Adelekan, et al., 19-cr-291
(Preska)
