SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 4 – The New York Times has
sued TIME magazine, for using
the term TIME100 Talks.
It calls
TIME "one of NYTCo's chief
competitors."
The case is
assigned to U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John P. Cronan, in whose
docket Inner City Press found
it on January 4.
TIME's lawyers at
Latham & Watkins wrote to
Judge Cronan asking for a
33-day extension of the
deadline to answer, move or
otherwise respond to the
complaint. They said "the
parties are currently
negotiating the terms of a
potential resolution." Ah,
business.
The case is New
York Times Company v. TIME
USA, LCC, 20-cv-9787 (Cronan).
