SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 15 – G&G
Closed Circuit Events sued a
bar for showing a Chavez
boxing bout without paying the
licensing fee.
On October
15 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul G. Gardephe held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The defendants
did not show up. But Judge
Gardephe to his credit
reviewed the plaintiff's
demand for money.
He said there was
not showing that the
sixty-some people observed in
the bar had been charged a
cover charge, or surcharge for
food and drink.
He set damages at
$2200, with $686 in costs but
no pre-judgment interest. An
individual defendant was not
held liable.
The case is
G&G Closed Circuit Events,
LLC v. Rossi et al.,
20-cv-03491 (Gardephe)
