SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 3 – Paul
Bass-Levitin had his wallet
and cell phone stolen in Las
Vegas in September 2018 in Las
Vegas.
The thieves
hacked his phone and accessed
his Barclays, Chase and
Discover cards listed with
Apple Pay.
They racked up
$22,000 in debt.
After
getting the run-around, in
2019 his application for a
Best Buy card was rejected due
to bad credit history.
He sued.
On June 3 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding which Inner City
Press covered.
Things went
quickly, with reference to
referring the case to SDNY
Magistrate Judge Barbara
Moses, with the next court
date not until 2010.
This case is
Bass-Levitin v. Experian
Information Solutions, Inc.,
et al., 20-cv-430
(Liman).
