SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 25 – Cynthia Ball sued
Marriott International for
discrimination and
retaliation.
On February
25 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Ball was a
waitress in Marriott's Times
Square location.
A male guest
backed Ball up against a wall
and began stroking her face,
on October 18, 2016.
Her manager
Alexander Fish did nothing.
Later, in another incident, a
"P" word was thrown around. As
a result of Defendant's
failure to protect its
employees, the sexual
harassment of Ball continued
by guests."
Judge
Parker referred the case to
mediation, with a mediator to
be appointed by March 8.
The case is Ball
v. Marriott International,
Inc., 19-cv-10593 (Parker)
