SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 2 – Michael Goliszeski
was working for a real estate
company called Rexton when he
starting arranging for
payments to fake companies
that he controlled.
He racked up $2
million, for "luxury goods and
vacations." He and his
paramour - bookkeeper were
sued, then he was
prosecuted.
On July 2
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alison J. Nathan held a
sentencing for Goliszeski.
Inner City Press covered it.
Goliszeski faced a guideline
sentence of 33 to 41 months,
as well as restitution. At
least two victims were in
attendance.
His lawyer
argued that he had sold his
house and shifted down to a
rental with the
bookkeeper.
Judge
Nathan ultimately sentenced
Goliszeski to a year and a
day, with the sentence not to
begin until January 2, 2021
due to COVID-19.
The case is US v.
Goliszeski, 19-cr-889 (Nathan)
