SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 12 – The Carpenters'
union sued Inniss Construction
for failure to pay into its
ERISA fund and sought a
default
judgment.
On November 12
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The dispute
began in 2018, about a
construction project at 111
Convent Avenue entitled
"Schiff House Daycare
Renovation at City College."
Inniss had not
retained counsel and so seemed
destined to lose.
But Judge
Vyskocil still grilled the
plaintiff, about service of
process.
The case is
Trustees of the New York City
District Council of Carpenters
Pension, Welfare, Annuity,
Apprenticeship, Journeyman
Retraining and Educational and
Industry Fund et al v. Inniss
Construction, Inc. et al.,
18-cv-9175 (Vyskocil)
