SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 29 – Terrance Rolle sued
Clinton Housing Development
Company, Inc. under the Fair
Labor Standards Act. Then he
settled.
On June 28,
2022 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lewis J. Liman held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The purpose
of the proceeding was for
Judge Liman to assess the
fairness of attorneys fees,
under Cheeks v. Freeport
Pancake House.
He found it fair,
particularly with counsel
taking the risk of defendant
not paying the second part of
the funds. It's $100,000 up
front, $40,000 within 26
months (at plaintiff's
counsel's risk).
The case is Rolle
v. Clinton Housing Development
Company, Inc. et al.,
21-cv-7732 (Liman)
