SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 14 – Amin Butler, faced
Federal narcotics charges, was
set to plead guilty on July
11, 2022. Then he went into
the hospital.
On July 13,
2022 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lewis J. Liman held
a bond or bail review
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Butler's
counsel said that the MDC jail
in Brooklyn cannot give him
effective care when he gets
out of the hospital.
Judge Liman
expressed sympathy and asked
questions, but denied the bond
request as premature, so,
without prejudice. The change
of plea, for now, is set for
August 12.
The case is US v.
Butler, 21-cr-621
(Liman)
