SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 27 – Tyrone Howard was
charged in connection with the
death of two people in a
building on Lafayette Avenue
in The Bronx on March 14,
2019.
On July 15,
Howard's co-defendant Bobby
Ramos by video pleaded guilty
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Valerie E. Caproni.
Inner City Press covered that:
Ramos had a plea agreement,
for 14 months, for selling
cocaine "on Lafayette Avenue."
Sentencing was set for
October.
Now on
August 27 Howard came to plead
guilty, this time in person in
a courthouse otherwise largely
empty. Inner City Press again
covered it. Sentencing was set
for December -- and then the
US Attorney asked for
immediate remand.
Judge
Caproni showed mercy and
allowed Howard to remain out,
citing COVID and family
responsibilities but warning
Howard that if he does not
appear, it would be bail
jumping.
The case is US v.
Howard, 20-cr-182 (Caproni)
