SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 17 – Trenena "Trina"
Patterson sued Entertainment
Partners LLC, Eye Productions,
Michael Woll and Viacom after
she was fired as a Set
Customer on the set of the
television show "Blue Bloods."
She says the set
was full of racism, with
comments about "big butt" and
"du-rag" and "black people
can't swim."
On November
6, 2020 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Alvin K.
Hellerstein held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it. Hellerstein
asked, with sympathy, if she
has found another job.
Only part
time, he was told: there is
very little work in theater
production due to COVID.
Jump cut to
September 17, 2021 when Judge
Hellerstein held another
conference. Inner City Press
again covered it. CBS says it
has submitted a FOIL request
to the NYS Department of Labor
for Patterson's unemployment
records. Judge Hellerstein
asked why take that slow route
rather than subpoena? Given
how long NYS agencies like DFS
take under FOIL, we'll see.
The case is
Patterson v. Entertainment
Partners LLC et al.,
20-cv-1911 (Hellerstein)
