SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 14 – Prentice Cox, in a
wheelchair, sued Bakers Pizza
for lack of accessibility
under the ADA. Then the owner
of Bakers Pizza was confined
to a mental
institution.
On January
14, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge John P. Cronan held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
question was whether Cox has
shown that the new owners of
Bakers Pizza, though related
to the former owner, are in
fact alter egos.
Judge
Cronan urged the parties to
talk and reach some agreement,
so that motions to dismiss
individual defendants or
substitute parties would not
be litigated.
