SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 27– Derrick Richardson is
charged with shooting and
killing Nestor Suazo on
September 19, 2015 on East
Tremont and Clinton Avenues in
The Bronx.
On May 27,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Victor Marrero held a
proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
question was when to hold the
trial.
Richardson's
lawyer said he client wants a
speedy trial - but then added
he is counsel in a death
penalty authorized case in the
Eastern District of Virginia
that is set for upcoming
trial.
The
Assistant US Attorney said
Richardson is lucky to have
such a lawyer, but... the
trial should not be delayed to
mid-2022.
Finally
Judge Marrero arrived at
January 10, 2022.
The case is US v.
Richardson, 20-cr-299
(Marrero)
