SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 13 – Najhim Luke
sued Corrections Officer
Khalid for allegedly punching
him in the eye, causing him to
lose his sight. He
sued.
On
January 13, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron held a conference. Inner
City Press called in to cover
it and when asked identified
itself.
But Luke was not
produced by the facility,
which cited a disturbance in
the hall.
Judge Aaron to
his credit noted a member of
the public on the line and
said when the facility had the
plaintiff ready, a new notice
would be posted in the docket,
providing 10 minutes
notice.
Notice was
provided. Ordered in the case
were a schedule for medical
and other discovery, and a
deadline for amended
pleadings: February 10.
The case is
Luke v. Khalid, 21-cv-5137
(Abrams / Aaron)
