SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 16 – Timothy Canty was
sentenced to 18 months in
prison in 2017 on gun
charges.
On February
16, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Andrew L. Carter
held a violation of supervised
release proceeding. Inner City
Press covered
it.
Canty had been
referred to a career criminal.
The lawyers on the case are
seasoned. The AUSA wrote to
Judge Carter to get added to
the Magistrate's order that
"the technology utilized for
home detention purposes is
left to the discretion of the
US Probation Office." Judge
Carter endorsed that, and set
a sentencing for March 15.
The case is US v.
Canty, 15-cr-255
(Carter)
