SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – David Mondore, wanted
on a warrant issued in the
U.S. District Court for the
Western District of New York,
was arrested in the Southern
District of New York at 6 am
on August 27.
Later than
day - at 5 pm -- U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman
held a Rule 5(c)(3)
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Assistant US
Attorney Sam Rothchild agreed
that Mondone could be released
on his own signature on a
$75,000 unsecured bond.
He said
there would be a conference in
the Western District on August

Some U.S.
Federal agencies are not
permitted to use Zoom, given
its links to the Chinese
government. Judge Freeman
remarked in the SDNY, "We use
CourtCall."
Many SDNY judge
used Skype for Business. Inner
City Press has covered a few
SDNY proceedings on Zoom, but
only in civil cases in which
it is the litigants themselves
which decided on and paid for
the Zoom service.
This case is US
v. Mondone, 20-mj-9159
(Freeman).
