SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 8 – Jonathan Smith was
charged with a shooting in
front of 2364 Washington
Avenue in The Bronx.
He appeared on
September 8 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Barbara
Moses. Inner City Press
covered it.
While
elsewhere in the SDNY the
argument is made that
financial information of
defendant Michael Avenatti, to
get like Smith a publicly
funded lawyer, is
confidential, Smith
information was read into the
record by Judge
Moses.
Smith is
receiving $471 a week in
unemployment. He has children
aged 1, 3 and 8, and pays
child support of $150 to $200
a month for each. He pays $300
a month in rent, and $65 a
month for his cell phone's
Internet service.
So why is
Avenatti's information all
under seal? Inner City Press
has opposed this.
This case
is US v. Smith, 20-cr-317
(Swain / Moses).
