SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 11 –
Dary Alberto Fermin was
arrested in The Bronx on
September 10 at 8 am.
Later that day
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Assistant US
Attorney Tom Burnett, citing
the underlying complaint in
the Eastern District of
Pennsylvania for aggrevated
identity theft and other
charges, sought detention.
Fermin's Federal Defender
portrayed things differently.
And Judge Moses agreed: she
freed him on $100,000 bond and
GPS, to appear in Federal
court at 600 Market Street in
Philadelphia on September 25.
The case is US v.
Fermin, 20-mj-9667 (Moses).
