SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 14 – Gabriel Chaleplis
sued Greek businessmen and a
Philadephia lawyer under RICO,
the Racketeer Influenced and
Corrupt Organizations
Act.
On November 13
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Chief Judge Colleen McMahon
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
plaintiff's counsel ran
through a litany of
complaints, of investments in
cannabis businesses in Greece
and wire transfers through
Citizens Bank.
Cut to the
chase, Judge McMahon said. Why
is this case here?
Plaintiff's
counsel emphasized the banks
have New York branches and
many meetings took place
here.
A defense
lawyer said the Greek cannabis
business is on the up and up
and wants out of the case.
Judge McMahon declined, and
said discovery will go through
June 20, 2021.
Now on November
27, defense counsel to Michael
Karloutsos has written to
Judge McMahon opposing
plaintiff's subpoena to Wells
Fargo Bank, Subpoena
Processing at 313 W Mount
Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ
07039 for Karloutsos'
financial records, and asking
for referral to the Magistrate
Judge on it.
The case is One
World, LLC et al v.
Onoufriadis et al., 20-cv-5802
(McMahon)
