SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 21 – Jose Martinez was
charged with the gunpoint
robbery of two groceries
stores in August 2020, on
Avenue A and East Broadway in
lower Manhattan.
On January
21, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge John P. Cronan held
a change of plea proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Judge Cronan
asked Martinez, You said you
got cigarettes and cash, did
they give it to you or was it
because you had a
gun? Martinez
said, Because I had a
gun.
Judge Cronan
asked, Did you point it?
Martinez replied, They could
see it.
The allocution
was deemed sufficient.
Sentencing is set for April
28.
The case is US v.
Martinez, 20-cr-537 (Cronan)
