SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 24 –
Dominick Lewis pleaded guilty
to attempted robbery in The
Bronx in 2013. He was
sentenced to 18 months
imprisonment then probation.
On March 21, 2020
he was arrested on 213th
Street in The Bronx and
charged with having a Ruger
pistol - that is, with being a
Felon in Possession.
On June 24
Lewis was arraigned before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Katherine Polk Failla.
Inner City Press covered it.
Judge Failla endeavored to
show Lewis a copy of the
indictment against him using
the CourtCall platform.
She asked the
Assistant U.S. Attorney if
there were victims to be
notified and he indicated yes.
Lewis pleaded not
guilty with a next conference
in August. Judge Failla
explained the exclusion of
time; Lewis' lawyer said once
discovery is produced, an
application for bail might
ensue.
The case is US v.
Lewis, 20-cr-290 (Failla).
