SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 9 – Ramon Mejia has sued
New York City Health &
Hospitals, the 50th Precinct
of the NYPD and others.
But under the
rules, they have a right to
his previous medical records.
The problem is,
he is in a nursing home and
can't get out and access the
records of his previous
treatment.
Now the
defendants are trying to get
the case dismissed.
On June 9 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Liman gave
Mejia, who said he didn't have
a pencil, the number to the
New York Legal Assistance
Group. He asked the defendants
to provide Mejia with a copy
of the transcript.
The case is
Mejia v. New York City Health
& Hospitals, et al.,
16-cv-9706 (Liman).
