SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 6 –
Jayvon Keitt is 20 years old
and pled guilty to selling
crack in The Bronx. On August
6, U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Analisa Torres held a
sentencing proceeding. Inner
City Press covered
it.
Keitt's lawyer
stressed how at 12 years old
his client was locked up and
mocked for wearing the same
clothes every day.
In the docket he
says "Jayvon has one memory of
the three years his parents
lived together: he is playing
on the floor of the kitchen,
senses a disturbance and looks
up to find his father holding
a knife to his mother's
throat."
Judge
Torres imposed the mandatory
minimum sentence of 60 months,
recommending FCI Danbury and
RDAP. The case is US v. Keitt,
20-cr-66 (Torres)
