Hours After Arrest Consents to Detention With
Case Still Sealed

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – In the
Magistrates Court of the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
a defendant named Elvis
Ramirez was presented on
September 22.
He had been
arrested more than 24 hours
before, at 5:30 pm on
September 20.
The docket number
was given, as 20-mj-1195. But
even at 9 pm all cases of
September 22 were listed on
PACER as
"Sealed."
SDNY Magistrate
Judge Sarah Netburn, during a
CourtCall / telephonic
proceeding that Inner City
Press covered, informed
Ramirez that he was charged
with one count, of narcotics
conspiracy.
Ramirez' assigned
CJA lawyer consented to
detention.
The case is US v.
Ramirez, 20-mj-1195 (Netburn).
