SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 24 – A defendant who had
an agreement by the U.S.
Attorney's Office to be
released on bond was in fact
detained on September 24, as a
danger to the community.
U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn
held a bond hearing. Inner
City Press covered
it.
Defendant
Castle's lawyer Charles Miller
emphasized that some of his
client's conviction were
juvenile offenses, with a few
disorderly conduct convictions
since.
But Judge
Netburn pointed to other
felony charges and after
conferring with Pre-Trial
Services returned and ordered
Castle detained.
The case is US v.
Castle, 20-mj-9955 (Netburn)
