SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 27 – Sotheby's
defrauded to British Virgin
Islands companies, the
companies have alleged in a
lawsuit in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York.
On July 15, 2020
SDNY Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
While the lengthy
conference had a series of
discovery issues, there was
also discussion of a
settlement.
And Judge Furman
ordered that defendants "shall
submit a copy of the
settlement agreement by email
to the Court for in camera
review."
Now on April 27,
Judge Furman convened another
conference. In the run-up,
there was a request that the
conference or a portion of it
be sealed. Judge Furman to his
credit said he would prefer to
leave it open; he suggested
that the parties speak in
general terms.
There is a transcript from
Monaco the relevance of which
to the litigation is not yet
clear, and is therefore still
being sealed. But should it
be?
The case is
Accent Delight International
Ltd. et al v. Sotheby's et
al., 18-cv-9011 (Furman)
