SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 6 – Chui-Fan Kwan sued
Sahara Dream Downtown Hotel
for not paying overtime or
minimum
wage.
On October 6 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Kwan's
lawyers want to post a notice
in the hotel lobby to notify
possible opt-ins.
The defendant
opposed it and Judge Cave
agreed, noting that "plaintiff
has not demonstrated that
other means of notifying the
Potential Plaintiffs have been
ineffective."
Judge Cave
said that some other questions
should be asked at deposition.
The case is Kwan
v. Sahara Dreams Co. II Inc.
et al., 17-cv-4058 (Abrams /
Cave)
