SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 21 – Jibril Adamu was
arrested in Croatia and
accused of conspiracy to
import cocaine from West
Africa.
On
November 20, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul G. Gardephe held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Adamu is
claiming that his legal papers
were taken by US DEA agents in
Croatia, and possibly reviewed
contrary to the Fifth and
Sixth Amendments to the US
Constitution.
Judge Gardephe
has ordered the Government to
submitted affidavits by
December 2 on whether the
documents were reviewed by
either DEA or US Attorney's
Office personnel.
The case is US v.
Adamu, 18-cr-601 (Gardephe)
