SDNY MAG COURT,
July 2 – In the Magistrates
Court of the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York on July
2, Harmon Feaggins was
presented on an alleged
violation of supervised
release, not reporting to
probation.
But that was only
part of the story. The
Assistant US Attorney said
Feaggins had stopped
reporting. But his Federal
Defender said Feaggins
believed that his probation
was over, and that he was told
as much by a probation officer
Robert Walsh, who he said is
now retired.
The AUSA replied
that Walsh is not retired. But
SDNY Magistrate Judge Debora
Freeman determined that
Feaggins should not be
detained. He was released on
$10,000 personal recognizance
bond, and freed to travel to
Pennsylvania until July 7.
The case
remains with SDNY District
Judge John F. Keenan; a July
14 proceeding will follow.
The case is US v.
Feaggins, 13-cr-494 (Keenan /
Freeman)
